Welcome back to Nails Are My Canvas! 🎨
I’m still in my fall mood, and apparently I’m not ready to leave it yet! For Episode 8, I decided to take my little fall collection somewhere new—the pumpkin patch.
After painting Autumn Drive for Episode 6 and Fall Barn for Episode 7, I wanted this design to feel like it belonged right alongside them while still being something completely different.
That’s how Harvest Ride came to life.
This time, I painted a green tractor carrying a pumpkin, surrounded by a pumpkin patch, fence and all the little details that make you think of a fall day in the country.
And somehow, I fit all of that on one nail.
Creating My Little Harvest Scene
One thing I enjoy about doing these detailed designs is watching the picture slowly come together.
I started with the background and then began working on the tractor. Once I had the main shape in place, I could start adding the smaller details and building the rest of the scene around it.
The green tractor became the focus of the design, but I didn’t want to stop there.
I added a pumpkin riding on the back, pumpkins growing in the patch in front, a fence, and even a few little birds in the sky.
Those tiny details are what make these designs so much fun for me. Every time I add something else, the nail starts looking less like a nail and more like a miniature painting.
A Fall Collection I Didn't Plan
What’s funny is that when I started creating these fall designs, I wasn’t necessarily thinking about turning them into a collection.
But now I can see a little story forming.
Episode 6: Autumn Drive gave me the vintage truck and pumpkins.
Episode 7: Fall Barn took me further into the countryside with the red barn and fall trees.
And now Episode 8: Harvest Ride takes us right into the pumpkin patch.
Each design is different, but when I look at them together, they feel like they belong in the same little fall world.
I love that.
There’s a Lot of Art on One Little Nail
This is exactly why I started calling this series Nails Are My Canvas.
When I look at a blank nail, I don’t only see a place for polish. I see a tiny canvas and start thinking about what I can create on it.
Sometimes it’s flowers. Sometimes it’s a landscape. And apparently, sometimes it’s an entire tractor, pumpkin patch and fence. 😂
That’s the fun of nail art for me. I get to keep challenging myself and seeing just how much detail I can bring to life in such a small space.
Small nail. Big art. 🎨
