Nails Are My Canvas: Episode 5 | Purple Geode Nail Art
Welcome back to Nails Are My Canvas! For Episode 5, I’m creating a purple geode nail using different shades of purple, my airbrush machine and gold chrome.
This design may look detailed, but it comes together with just a few simple techniques. The layering of the purple shades is what gives the geode its depth, while the gold chrome brings the entire design to life.
Creating the Purple Geode
I started by using my airbrush gun to apply a light lilac color in the center of the nail. I continued airbrushing the lilac until I built up the color and achieved the look I wanted.
Next, I used a brush to clean up and shape the lilac center into a circle before curing it.
Once that layer was cured, I went back in with a darker shade of purple. The contrast between the light lilac center and the deeper purple around it is what begins to create that natural geode appearance.
Adding the Gold Chrome
To finish the design, I outlined the purple circle with clear builder gel. This created a raised border around the geode.
After curing the builder gel, I applied gold chrome over the outline. That small gold detail made the purple center stand out and gave the nail a rich, finished look.
