Nails Are My Canvas: Episode 4
Nails Are My Canvas is back!
It has been a little while since Episode 3, but I wanted to bring the series back with something that truly shows what I enjoy most about nail art—painting and turning small nails into complete pictures.
For Episode 4, I created a hand-painted fall landscape across two nails.
Creating the Fall Background
I started with warm orange backgrounds to set the tone for the entire design. From there, I painted the tree trunks and branches before adding the fall leaves.
I layered different shades of red, orange, yellow and green throughout the trees. Using more than one color gave the leaves depth and kept them from looking flat.
Turning Two Nails Into One Scene
Although each nail has its own artwork, I designed them to look like two parts of the same landscape.
One nail focuses on the fall tree, while the other continues the scenery with more trees, birds, land and a reflection in the water. Placing the nails beside each other allows you to see the full picture.
That is one of the things I love about creating nail art. I’m not limited to painting one isolated design—I can use several nails as connected mini canvases.
Watch Episode 4
This design takes patience because there are several small details, but those details are what bring the landscape to life.
I created this series to show the artistic side of Divine Designz Beauty Bar and to let you watch the process instead of only seeing the finished nails.
You’ll just have to keep watching to see what I paint next.
After all, your nails are my canvas.
