Nails Are My Canvas: Episode 1 | Leopard French Nail Art

Welcome to Nails Are My Canvas

As a nail artist, when I get in my zone, I don’t see nails as just nails. I see them as mini canvases where I can create the same types of pictures, portraits and designs that would normally be painted on a full-sized canvas.

I created Nails Are My Canvas because I want people to see the artistic side of Divine Designz Beauty Bar. These aren’t designs copied from someone else. They are authentic designs created from my own ideas and shown from my point of view as a nail artist.

I have always enjoyed painting and drawing, and nail art gives me another way to express that part of myself. The only difference is that instead of working on a large canvas, I’m fitting all of that detail into the small space of a nail.

In every episode, you’ll see the process—not just a picture of the finished design. You’ll actually watch me draw, paint and bring the idea together step by step.

You can expect a little bit of everything, including landscapes, trending nail art, cartoon characters and whatever else I feel inspired to create. You’ll just have to tune in to see what I paint next.

Episode 1: Leopard French Nail Art

For Episode 1, I’m starting with a quick nail art design that looks elaborate but is actually beginner-friendly and easy to follow.

This design combines a soft pink base, a French tip, hand-painted leopard print and embellishments. I added a gold butterfly and small pink flowers, but you can use whatever charms or decorations you already have.

What Makes This Design Beginner-Friendly?

Leopard print doesn’t have to be perfect. That’s one of the reasons it’s such a good design for beginners.

Start by adding a few spots in different sizes and shapes. Outline parts of them with black, leaving some open space around each one. For this design, I only added the leopard print to the French tip, so you can practice the pattern without covering the entire nail.

Once the French tip and leopard print are complete, add your butterfly, flowers or other embellishments. Apply your top coat, cure it and you’re finished.

This is a simple way to take a basic French tip and make it more creative without making the steps too difficult.

If you recreate this design, try changing the colors or embellishments to make it your own. After all, your nails are your canvas.
