The last thing I want you to worry about is whether your makeup will look the way you imagined or whether everyone will be ready on time.
As a makeup artist, I believe bridal makeup is about more than creating a beautiful face. It is also about listening to the bride, understanding her vision and helping the getting-ready process feel organized and enjoyable.
At Divine Designz Beauty Bar, I offer bridal makeup in Jacksonville, North Carolina, with options for brides who want to come into the Beauty Bar and those who prefer on-location services at their home, hotel or wedding venue.
Bridal Makeup Designed for You
Every bride is different. Some brides want natural makeup that simply enhances their features. Others want soft glam, defined eyes or a more dramatic look. Some brides wear makeup regularly, while others may be receiving professional makeup for the first time.
My goal is never to make every bride look the same. I want to create a look that complements your features, photographs beautifully and still allows you to recognize yourself when you look in the mirror.

Getting Ready at the Beauty Bar
Coming to Divine Designz Beauty Bar for your wedding-day makeup is a convenient option for brides who do not need on-location services.
In-salon bridal makeup is $125. You can come into the Beauty Bar, relax while your makeup is applied and then leave to get dressed, take photographs or head to the next part of your day.
Some of my brides arrive with their hair protected because their hairstyling is not finished yet. That is completely fine. These behind-the-scenes photographs show a real part of the getting-ready process: the makeup is complete, the hair is protected and the bride is one step closer to being ready.
What Is Included in Bridal Makeup?
Your bridal makeup appointment includes skin preparation and a complete makeup application. If needed, I will also shape and groom your eyebrows before filling and sculpting them.

Bridal Makeup for Traditional and Cultural Celebrations
Wedding celebrations do not all look the same, and sometimes one bride needs more than one makeup look.
I had the opportunity to create two looks for the same bride—one for her traditional wedding and another for her Nigerian wedding celebration. Each look needed to work with a completely different outfit and overall presentation while still making her feel like herself.
For her white wedding gown, we created an elegant bridal look that photographed beautifully with her dress and jeweled hair accessory. For her Nigerian celebration, her green and gold attire called for a look that complemented the richness of the colors and the beauty of the occasion.

Bridal-Party Makeup Without the Guesswork
I also provide makeup services for bridal parties, including bridesmaids, mothers of the bride and groom, and other important members of your wedding day.
When I am booked for a bridal party, I create a detailed makeup timeline as part of the planning process. The timeline assigns each person a scheduled makeup time and gives us a clear finish time based on when everyone needs to get dressed, take photographs, leave for the venue or begin the ceremony.
A makeup timeline may seem like a small detail, but it can make a major difference on the wedding day. Without one, people may arrive late, miss their turn or assume there is more time available than there really is. That can cause the entire morning to feel rushed.
I build in enough time for each person to receive her full service while also allowing room for touch-ups and unexpected delays. My goal is to make sure everyone gets glammed without the bride having to watch the clock or figure out who should be in my chair next.
The timeline is not about controlling your wedding morning—it is about protecting it. I take pride in being organized, staying on schedule and doing my part to help you and your bridal party arrive where you need to be on time.
Early Appointments for In-Salon Bridal Parties
If your full bridal party is coming to Divine Designz Beauty Bar and needs to begin before we open at 9 a.m., please contact me before booking.
Earlier start times may be arranged for full bridal-party bookings. Although I normally charge an additional before-hours fee for individual appointments scheduled before 9 a.m., that fee is waived when I am accommodating a full in-salon bridal party on the wedding day.
Additional members of your party can also book their makeup services at the Beauty Bar so we can plan enough time for everyone.
On-Location Bridal Makeup
Some brides prefer to get dressed and have their beauty services completed in one place. If you would like me to travel to your home, hotel or wedding venue, on-location bridal makeup is available through a custom package.
On-location services are priced separately from the $125 in-salon bridal makeup appointment. Traveling requires additional preparation, scheduling and coordination. Pricing depends on your wedding date, location, number of people receiving makeup and the time everyone must be ready.

Why Bridal Trials Matter
A bridal trial is especially important if you have a specific vision for your wedding-day makeup. Inspiration pictures can help communicate your ideas, but a trial allows you to see how that look appears on your own face and whether the artist’s style is the right match for you.
I also strongly recommend a trial if you rarely wear makeup, have never received professional makeup or are unsure how much makeup you will feel comfortable wearing. Your wedding day should not be the first time you discover whether you like false eyelashes, full-coverage foundation, contouring or a particular style of bridal glam.
It is perfectly acceptable to schedule trials with different makeup artists before choosing the right one. Every artist has a different style and technique, and not every artist will be the right match for every bride. This is your wedding day, and you deserve to feel confident in your decision.
Brides receiving their wedding-day makeup at Divine Designz Beauty Bar are not required to schedule a trial, but they may choose to book one for $150.
For on-location bridal makeup, a trial is mandatory and included in the package. If I am packing my kit and traveling to your location, your wedding day should not be the first time we meet or the first time I create your bridal look. I want to arrive knowing exactly what you want, which products I need and how to recreate the look you already approved.
What Happens During a Bridal Trial?
A bridal trial gives us dedicated time to get to know one another, explore your ideas and make adjustments without the pressure of a wedding-day schedule.
We can compare different details until we create a complete look that feels right for you. This includes choosing your eyelashes. A lash may look beautiful in its packaging but appear completely different once it is applied.
During a recent trial, one of my brides had a particular eyelash look in mind. Fortunately, I had several styles available for her to consider. I applied different lashes so she could see them on her own eyes and make a confident decision. That is the type of choice a bride should have time to make without feeling rushed.
One thing I take pride in is allowing my brides to leave their trials with a fully completed makeup look. I do not remove everything at the end of the appointment. I want you to see your makeup outside the Beauty Bar, observe it under different lighting, take photographs and test its longevity throughout the day.
Afterward, you can let me know how the makeup lasted, how you felt wearing it and whether there are any details you would like changed. That feedback allows us to refine your final look and removes the guesswork before your wedding day arrives.
How to Prepare for Your Bridal Makeup Appointment
Please arrive with a completely clean face and no makeup or skincare products applied. This includes moisturizers, oils and serums. I will complete the necessary skin preparation before applying your makeup.
Any unwanted facial hair should preferably be removed before your appointment. If you plan to wax or receive a spray tan, schedule it at least three days before your makeup appointment.
Avoid chemical peels, enzyme treatments and other harsh or intensive facial treatments immediately before your wedding. Trying a new or strong treatment too close to the wedding could leave your skin irritated, sensitive or peeling. Complete those services well in advance and follow the timing recommended by your skincare professional.
You are also welcome to bring inspiration photographs. They help me understand what you are drawn to, even if we decide to adjust certain elements to complement your individual features.
